Choose where the library belongs
Scriptorum provides explicit local persistence and portable book data so writers can maintain their own backup strategy. The application saves through Electron using temporary files and atomic replacement to reduce the risk of a partial write.
Local-first does not mean backup-free. It means the writer can decide whether copies belong on an external drive, a private synchronization service, or another location they control.
Buy once instead of renting the editor
The standalone Windows edition uses a perpetual license for up to three personal devices. There is no recurring subscription required to continue opening or writing the books stored locally.
Activation verifies the license, but the signed offline certificate permits normal use without a permanent connection.
