Purchase and payment
Direct website transactions are processed by Stripe Managed Payments as merchant of record. Stripe presents the final price, applicable taxes, receipt, refund process, and transaction support under its terms. Product and technical support are provided by Mayfly Creative Studios LLC at [email protected].
Software license
After payment, Mayfly grants the purchaser a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable, single-user license to use the purchased Scriptorum edition. A standalone license may be activated on up to three devices controlled by that user. Separate users require separate licenses. The license is perpetual for the version purchased; future features, services, compatibility work, and updates are not guaranteed indefinitely.
Your writing belongs to you
You retain every right you hold in manuscripts, notes, planning materials, images, exports, and other content you create or import. Mayfly does not acquire ownership of your creative work because you use Scriptorum, and publication or commercial use of that work does not require a royalty to Mayfly.
Local data, activation, and updates
Scriptorum stores book vaults and manuscripts in the location you select. You are responsible for maintaining backups and protecting access to your files. The standalone edition requires internet access for initial activation and downloading updates, but verifies the license locally after activation. Activation uses limited license and installation information and does not transmit manuscripts or planning content. See the Privacy Policy for details.
Permitted use and restrictions
You may use Scriptorum for personal, educational, professional, and commercial writing projects and may keep reasonable archival copies. You may not redistribute, resell, rent, sublicense, share license credentials, bypass activation or device limits, remove proprietary notices, or reverse engineer the software except where applicable law expressly permits it.
Refunds and termination
Stripe handles direct-purchase refunds, payment disputes, and transaction support as merchant of record, subject to applicable law. If a purchase is refunded, reversed, fraudulent, disputed, or charged back, the associated license rights terminate and future activation and update authorization may be disabled. Termination never transfers or erases your ownership of your writing or local files.
Warranty and liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Scriptorum is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, or uninterrupted and error-free operation. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Mayfly is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, lost profits, lost opportunities, loss of data, or substitute services. Mayfly's total liability will not exceed the amount paid for the applicable Scriptorum license. Limitations do not apply where liability cannot legally be limited.
Governing law and changes
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Georgia, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where mandatory consumer laws in your residence apply. If a provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue. Material changes will be posted with a new effective date and apply prospectively where required.
